I am a technology builder, operator, and policy expert. Currently, I split my time between Washington D.C. and San Francisco. I’ve spent most of my career working in tech companies in different capacities: as a PM building products for energy utilities, as a policy expert advising on AI and cybersecurity, and as a business leader, helping create go-to-market strategies for security products.
Most recently, I was at the Department of Homeland Security as Senior Counselor to the Secretary, advising on national security and supporting the Department’s role in shaping federal AI directives and regulation. Prior to my time at DHS, I built a data policy team at Uber that provided internal product counsel and advised policymakers on matters of privacy, cybersecurity, and AI.
Things I’m involved with / areas of interest:
Building technical and policy interventions to make AI models safer.
Assessing how AI exacerbates longstanding privacy concerns associated with consumer products.
Following industrial applications of AI, especially the growing use of AI to operate critical infrastructure (e.g. energy and healthcare).
